Care and Connect Volunteers

Volunteer with us!

Our volunteers aren’t just the heart and soul of our clinics — they’re the backbone of our work! Bringing free dental care and health screenings to underserved communities only happens because of compassionate professionals like you. When you share your time and talent to help people who have no other way to get care, you’re making a real difference in the lives of our neighbors.

We would love to have you serve with us!

If you are a dental or medical provider — including dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, nurses, or physicians — with a current state license to practice your profession, please apply to volunteer now!

Volunteer expectations for Care & Connect Mobile Health

Thank you for considering volunteering with Medical Teams! We are excited to partner with you. We ask all of our volunteers to come to their roles with compassion, understanding, and respect for the people we serve. That is the foundation of our care, and is an invaluable part of the services we provide.

Each dental volunteer is asked to commit to a minimum of 5 shifts per year. Each shift is about 7 hours and includes seeing about 8 patients per shift. Each dental van is fully equipped and stocked with current dental equipment.

Generally, we provide the following services to our patients:

  • Fillings and restoration of teeth
  • Extractions of broken teeth
  • Treatment of infections or abscesses in teeth or gums
  • Basic exams and x-rays
  • Visits with a nurse that include basic health screenings

Deepen your impact as a current volunteer

We’re dedicated to expanding access to health care for underserved communities — and you can help! If you’re a current volunteer dentist, consider becoming a credentialed provider with Medicaid.

When you become a credentialed provider with Medicaid, you’ll help grow our program so more people can get emergency dental care. Credentialed provider encounters increase revenue that supports the expansion of Care & Connect Mobile Health. Additionally, when a credentialed provider makes a claim to Medicaid for a patient, the patient is automatically connected to long-term care through a statewide Medicaid hub.

You know the need is great — help us serve more people in need in our community!

Become a credentialed provider with Medicaid. It’s quick, easy, and will help you have an even greater impact on the health of people in our own backyards.
