A comprehensive five-day, nine-session curriculum for use by trainers of program managers and development workers in the private and public sectors. Field tested in Africa, the curriculum is designed to enable development workers to create gender-responsive institutions, policies, programs and projects. It examines gender influences in the participants' own lives, cultural reinforcement of gender roles and relationships and how these affect the development process.

Although this is a training manual, it can also be used as a self-guided learning tool and reference. Provided by the Centre for Development and Population Activities.

Section B of the handbook, Areas of Work, is the most relevant as it discusses practical application of the guidelines. For example there is a chapter on “Gender and Health in Emergencies”. The handbook was developed by members of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC).

The IASC is a is a unique inter-agency forum for coordination, policy development and decision-making involving key UN and non-UN humanitarian partners established in 1992 to strengthen humanitarian assistance.

Integrating Gender in Care and Support of Vulnerable Children: A Guide for Program Designers and Implementers [PDF]
This guide, published by FHI360, provides step-by-step guidance and recommendations on how  to identify and address gender-related issues that negatively affect vulnerable boys and girls in the local program context. It is intended to be a practical tool for staff involved in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of care and support programs for vulnerable children.

The Interagency Gender Working Group (IGWG) created theGender and health eToolkit to broaden the set of resources available to gender experts, public health specialists and service providers. Technical areas of health covered in the eToolkit include, but are not limited to, sexual/reproductive health and family planning; maternal health; child health; HIV/AIDS; infectious disease; water and sanitation; and nutrition and food security.
