On August 27, something special is happening at Medical Teams…we’re celebrating our 2nd annual Medical Teams Giving Day! Mark your calendar for a day of celebration and the chance to give better, together for our neighbors around the world. Last year, this incredible community send $50,000 in life-saving medical care to people facing crisis. Read on to find out more about Giving Day, and why August 27 is the best day to give! What’s Medical Teams Giving Day? Giving Day is a chance to come together as a community of compassionate, big-hearted supporters to help our neighbors facing crisis. As the world experiences more war, famine, and other emergencies that force people from home, people like you are helping care for families who need health care. You’re the reason millions of people have had someone to hold their hand and help them through some of their most challenging days. Because of you, children are treated for malaria. They can get vaccinations and medicine for common, preventable illnesses. When they’re malnourished, they receive emergency nutrition. As a result, children can be their playful, silly, smiling selves without being hindered by bad health. On Medical Teams Giving Day, you can support women and children like these three in Colombia! Your generosity makes it possible for expecting mothers to get quick access to prenatal care. When they worry something’s wrong with their babies, they know where to go for reassurance and care. Your support means people within the communities we serve can reach out and care for their neighbors. They find purpose and belonging in programs that help educate and promote health. You stock clinics with the supplies they need to care for the people around them who are caught in some of the most difficult situations imaginable. For all these reasons — and so many more — we wanted to celebrate our faithful community on Medical Teams Giving Day. As a bonus, our generous donors pledged to match up to $20,000 on Giving Day! That means your donation is doubled until August 27 at midnight. Plus, if we reach $10,000, another $10,000 gift will be unlocked! With $30,000 of life-saving medical care on the line, it’s more important than ever to come together to meet the match. But this community is definitely up to the challenge! Why should I give? On Medical Teams Giving Day, your gift will be matched up to $20,000 until midnight on August 27, thanks to our incredible donors. You can send TWICE the loving, life-saving medical care to someone in their moment of crisis. But don’t wait! We only have 24 hours to meet our match and help as many people as we can. In addition, if the original $10,000 match is met, another donor has pledge $10,000! Watch the video here! You know the need for loving, life-saving medical care has never been greater. Conflict in Ukraine, a political crisis in Venezuela forcing people to leave, and the violence — and now famine — in Sudan makes this work urgent. You can make sure no one walks this difficult road alone with a gift on Medical Teams Giving Day. Celebrate Medical Teams Giving Day We hope you’ll join us to celebrate Medical Teams Giving Day! If you’re on Facebook, follow along on August 27 as we livestream the celebration from our offices in Portland. You’ll hear from our staff about what your donation means to people on the frontlines of care. Save-the-date for Medical Teams Giving Day. Don’t forget to donate on August 27 to help meet the goal of sending life-saving medical care across the world! Most of all, thank you for coming together to share God’s healing love with our neighbors facing crisis.
