Today, we are kicking off a month-long campaign that’s ALL about the power of the Pulseour community of monthly donors who provide steady, life-saving care in some of the world’s hardest places.

But who is a Pulse donor? A Pulse donor is someone invested in the long-term, sustainable health of our programs. Someone who cares deeply about loving your neighbors and believes in the mission to boldly break barriers to health and restore wholeness in a hurting world.

Because healing doesn’t happen in a moment — it happens month after month.

Monthly giving helps families not just in their worst moments, but in the difficult months that follow, when consistent care matters most. Long-term giving allows a malnourished child not only to have that first packet of emergency nutrition, but to return to the clinic for weekly checkups and nutritional support to ensure they can fully recover. It provides a woman with not only a safe birth but also comprehensive postpartum care to set her up for success on her journey as a new mother. It allows communities to rebuild long after a crisis has faded from the headlines.

We invite you to join this community of committed monthly donors. When you join The Pulse between now and February 20, your first monthly gift will be DOUBLED!

But why join the Pulse? We’d love to answer all of your questions about this special kind of giving!

1. Why should I join The Pulse as a monthly donor instead of making one-time donations?

As a Pulse member, your consistent monthly support allows Medical Teams International to respond immediately to health crises and maintain life-saving programs year-round. Predictable funding means we can keep medical supplies stocked, health workers trained, and clinics operational without interruption.

As of December 2025, nearly 800 people have chosen to be part of the Pulse.

2. How much do Pulse members typically give each month?

In 2025, most Pulse members gave an average of $84 per month, but any amount makes a meaningful difference. Even $25 a month provides essential medications and supplies that save lives in communities facing disaster or poverty.

Last year, this community raised over $30,000 from monthly donations of $20 or less, proving that small acts of generosity, repeated month after month, can have an incredible impact.

3. Can I adjust or pause my Pulse membership if needed?

Yes, you have complete flexibility. You can change your monthly gift amount, update your payment method, or pause your donations at any time by contacting us or managing your account online.

4. What’s the long-term impact of joining The Pulse?

Pulse members create lasting, transformational change for the people we serve. Last year, our Pulse community collectively gave a total of $667,657 to Medical Teams–that’s well over half a million dollars in life-saving support! Monthly donors collectively give more over time, and your sustained support means we can commit to multi-year health programs that transform entire communities rather than just responding to immediate emergencies.

5. Are my monthly Pulse donations tax-deductible?

Absolutely. Medical Teams International is a 501(c)(3) organization, so every monthly donation is fully tax-deductible. You’ll receive a consolidated annual statement showing your total giving for easy tax filing. Starting this year, new tax laws mean that even those who take the standard deduction are now able to deduct their charitable giving as well! It’s great news for everyone!

Monthly giving brings hope. Your generosity helps us hire local staff, maintain equipment, stock pharmacies, and walk alongside communities through crisis and recovery.

The communities and people we serve depend on this kind of long-term support. People like Asma, one of our psychologists working on the frontlines of war-torn Sudan to help children recover from severe trauma.

“I help children, teenagers, adults, and families living with conditions like PTSD and depression… So many bad things happened here. The worst imaginable. Please help us.” Asma says.
