(PORTLAND, ORE., March 15, 2013) – The Board of Directors of Medical Teams International (MTI) has elected Dr. Jeff Rideout and Doug Martinez to join the organization’s governing body.

Dr. Jeff Rideout is returning to MTI’s board having ended his first full term in 2011 and has participated on a number of the organization’s volunteer teams serving in Guatemala and Mexico. He is the senior vice president and chief medical officer for the TriZetto Corporation which provides healthcare information technology solutions. An 18-year veteran of the healthcare industry, Dr. Rideout was former chief medical officer for Blue Shield of California and Cisco Systems He holds an M.D. from Harvard Medical School, an M.A. in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University, a B.S. in biology from Stanford University, and is a former Rhodes Scholar.

Doug Martinez is the co-founder of Cross Section Ventures, a San Clemente, California based company which provides communications resources for ministries and nonprofits. A graduate of Azusa Pacific University, Mr. Martinez has over 25 years of business and investment experience, having been an equity-owner, CEO and Senior Executive while participating in the management and growth of several notable enterprises such as American Standard Plumbing Products, Price Pfister, Black and Decker, RSI Home Products and several other privately held entities. He is also the founder and Chairman of Temporary Holdings, LLC, an equity investment company. Mr. Martinez serves on several for profit and non-profit boards including the President’s Advisory Board for Point Loma Nazarene University.
