The Pulse Program Helps Monthly Givers Provide Sustained, Life-Saving Healthcare
(PORTLAND, Oregon) January 28, 2026 – When the headlines fade on some of the world’s most serious, life-threatening conflicts and crises, extreme needs remain, and Medical Teams International is there. So are our dedicated monthly givers, who provide the resources to ensure Medical Teams can continually deliver life-saving healthcare to people facing crisis.
Starting today through February 16, Medical Teams is inviting people to join The Pulse, our community of monthly givers, or to increase the monthly donations they’re already making. All new or increased gifts to The Pulse will be matched for the first month, up to $10,000, thanks to a generous donor.
Monthly giving to Medical Teams matters, for two big reasons. The first is reliability – it allows us to plan and prepare, helping to protect the most vulnerable. For example, we can stock pharmacies and hire local doctors with confidence; a child can complete a full course of nutritional treatment; and a mother can rely on a local clinic for her prenatal checkups. (In 2025, Medical Teams delivered a baby every 10 minutes in some of the world’s toughest crises.) The second reason is efficiency – steady funding reduces administrative costs, putting more of the donor’s gift to work.
“If the Medical Teams clinic had not been there, my son and I would not have survived. Without your donations, we would not have access to these services, and I wouldn’t be alive today,” said Anitha Uwineza, after receiving emergency medical care at a clinic in Tanzania.”
Examples of what monthly gifts through The Pulse accomplish:
- $20 treats 6 children for malaria each month
- $50 provides 3 birthing essentials kits each month
- $100 supports 1 child’s recovery from malnutrition each month
“Being a monthly donor is important to me because the need doesn’t come in fits and starts — the need is constant. If we’re able to support consistently, that allows care to get to the people who need it on a consistent basis. It’s such a gift, such a beautiful privilege, to be able to support others, and it’s something I will never take for granted,” states Teresa Conroy, monthly donor at Medical Teams.”
