Scripture: Luke 9:57–58
Theme: Homeless Savior

When someone eagerly declared their intent to follow Jesus, He responded with a sobering truth: “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” Jesus lived as a wanderer, often without a permanent home, dependent on the hospitality of others. His mission led Him into discomfort, rejection, and displacement.

To follow Jesus is to walk in the footsteps of a displaced Messiah. It means embracing a life that may not always be settled or secure. It means choosing compassion over comfort, mission over materialism, and presence over permanence. The church is called to reflect this heart—to be a refuge for the displaced, a home for the homeless, and a community of radical hospitality. This is also the calling of Medical Teams International – Daring to love like Jesus, we boldly break barriers to health and restore wholeness in a hurting world.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You knew what it was to be without a home. Help Your church to embody Your compassion—to welcome the stranger, shelter the vulnerable, and walk alongside those who have been displaced. May we follow You not just in word, but indeed, wherever You lead. Amen.
