Press Release Medical Teams International Welcomes Eric W. Ha as President & Chief Executive Officer By Medical Teams International October 15, 2024 (Portland, OR) October 15, 2024 – Medical Teams International, a global health and humanitarian relief organization, is delighted to introduce Eric W. Ha to our international community of staff, supporters, and partners as our newly appointed President & Chief Executive Officer. Eric will start his new role on November 4, 2024. Eric brings to Medical Teams more than two decades of experience in human rights, international development, and organizational leadership. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at International Justice Mission (IJM), a leading global human rights organization working to protect people in poverty from slavery, human trafficking, violence against women and children, and police abuse of power. For over a decade, Eric held several executive leadership roles at IJM and was instrumental in significantly scaling IJM’s revenue, operations, and impact. Prior to joining IJM, Eric practiced law at Sidley Austin LLP, a full-service global law firm. There, he managed complex commercial litigation, provided strategic counseling, and conducted internal investigations for multinational corporate clients. Eric was also a leader in Sidley’s pro bono efforts, and successfully represented individual clients in asylum, human trafficking, and civil rights cases. Additionally, Eric taught constitutional law at the University of Miami Law School and served as a federal judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jorge A. Solis of the Northern District of Texas. Eric holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School and a Bachelor of Arts with Special Honors in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
