With over two decades of experience in human rights, international development, and organizational leadership, Eric serves as President & CEO of Medical Teams International. Prior to joining Medical Teams, he served as Chief Operating Officer at International Justice Mission and earlier practiced law at Sidley Austin LLP, a full-service global law firm.

Lauren Taylor

Chief of Global Programs

Lauren draws on nearly 25 years of experience in international relief and development, guided by a passion for helping people move from trauma and suffering into healing, wholeness, and opportunity. Most recently, she served as National Director of World Vision International’s Jerusalem/West Bank/Gaza program for five years.

Tricia Caldwell

Chief Development Officer

For more than 20 years, Tricia has led high-impact teams in sales and marketing and is now serving as Interim Vice President of Marketing and Development at Medical Teams International. She joined the organization in March 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic began spreading worldwide, and has since held several pivotal roles.

Sam’s 17 years of international development experience span finance, change management, and operations across multiple countries. Joining Medical Teams International in 2022 was a full-circle moment after his childhood in war-torn Lebanon, where humanitarian aid was a constant presence.

Joe has dedicated 25 years to Medical Teams International, beginning with our emergency response to Hurricane Mitch in Honduras in 1998. Since then, he has played a critical role in building our reputation in disaster response with innovative and effective programming.

Andrea Dos Santos

Executive Director, United States Programs

Andrea brings more than 20 years of experience leading large-scale public health initiatives both domestically and internationally. She has held senior leadership roles with the Illinois Department of Public Health, American Red Cross, ChildFund International, and other global organizations, overseeing multi-million-dollar programs that strengthened health systems, advanced emergency preparedness, and delivered life-saving care in times of crisis. Most recently, she served as Deputy Director for the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Jason Evans

Three decades of humanitarian service have shaped Jason Evans into a values-driven leader committed to quality programming that improves the lives of the most vulnerable. He has led humanitarian programs across Africa, Asia, and Europe, including 22 years in senior leadership with World Vision.

Duncan Fleck

Country Director, Ukraine

Duncan has more than 12 years of experience leading country programs and coordinating humanitarian projects in complex contexts. Before joining Medical Teams International, he worked with Medair for seven years in roles of increasing responsibility, serving as Country Director in both Haiti and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Roger Kadima

Country Director, Ethiopia

Roger brings two decades of humanitarian experience, with deep knowledge of operations, donor engagement, and the context in Ethiopia. He previously served as Country Director for International Medical Corps in Ethiopia, building strong relationships within the humanitarian community.

Debora Niyeha

Debora is a dynamic leader with more than 15 years of experience in leadership, management, and coordination. She holds a Master of Science in Foods, Nutrition, and Dietetics from Kenyatta University and an Executive Master’s in Development Policies and Practice from the Graduate Institute Geneva.

Elisander Pineda

Country Director, Colombia

Elisander has 14 years of experience leading humanitarian aid and development projects in conflict-affected, migration, and poverty-stricken areas. His expertise includes leadership roles as Project Manager and Humanitarian Advisor with organizations assisting refugees and migrants.

Birhanu Waka

Country Director, Sudan

For more than 18 years, Birhanu has worked in the humanitarian sector, leading and supporting emergency responses in Ethiopia, Somalia, Liberia, South Sudan, Nepal, Zambia, Syria, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, Poland, Romania, Moldova, and Sudan. He has partnered with local organizations and stakeholders to deliver life-saving assistance to vulnerable populations.
