Hurricane Michael Response

Deliver Disaster Health Kits to storm survivors.

Communities are devastated in the wake of Hurricane Michael — the first Category 4 storm to hit the Florida Panhandle since records were first kept more than a century ago. With winds that struck at a staggering 155-mph, buildings have been destroyed, roads are blocked, neighborhoods are flooded, and many families don’t know when it will be safe to return home. You can help them.

Medical Teams is working closely with trusted partners on the ground to distribute Disaster Health Kits to families in evacuation shelters. Thousands of kits are on their way to hard-hit areas.

Disaster Health Kits provide essential items to help prevent the spread of disease and illness in close quarters. Each kit includes antiseptic wipes, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other vital items — enough to meet the needs of one person for a full week and help restore their dignity during this crisis.

It costs only $10 to get a Disaster Health Kit in the hands of a hurricane survivor. A gift of $50 will serve an entire family of 5 for a week.

Responding to disasters — whether natural or manmade — is something that is central to our calling at Medical Teams International. We go where we’re needed most to ease the suffering of those devastated by crises. And we stand ready to respond — we have nearly 40 years of experience providing rapid, life-saving care after tragedies strike.
