(PORTLAND, ORE., July 24, 2014) -- Medical Teams International (MTI) has received a $10,000 grant from Braemar Charitable Trust to support mobile dental clinics in Central Oregon. Braemar Charitable Trust is managed by TMS Trust Management Services, LLC based in Waldport, Oregon.
With the support of this grant, Medical Teams International will address the service gap in dental care for residents of Lake, Jefferson, Crook and Klamath counties by providing mobile dental clinics. Medical Teams International estimates that 100 children and adults will be served thanks to this grant.
“The need for low-cost dental care in these counties continues to rise,” says Matt Stiller, Director of MTI’s Mobile Dental program. “Access to dental services and a decline in the number of dental professionals in our rural areas make it challenging for many people to get the care they need. We’re grateful for this generous grant that will help MTI provide much-needed dental care to Central Oregon.”
Since 1989, the organization’s Mobile Dental program has provided quality dental services to those with the least access to care. Volunteer dentists, dental assistants and hygienists staff the organization’s 11 mobile dental units in Oregon and Washington. Last year, the program served more than 18,000 patients and provided services valued at more than $8 million.
