J. Michael Goodwin
Interim CEO

Mike is interim President & CEO of Medical Teams International. Prior to accepting this appointment, Goodwin served on the Medical Teams Board for eight years, including four as chair. Previously, he served as President and CEO of the Oregon State University Foundation for 16 years. Under his leadership, the university’s first campus-wide fundraising effort, The Campaign for OSU, raised more than $1.14 billion. He has spent his professional career serving academic institutions such as Georgetown University and Washington State University in the areas of university relations, development and planned giving. In addition to serving on the Board of Medical Teams, Mike served as chair of the Council for Advancement & Support of Education Board of Trustees. He also serves as a Senior Fellow with the Association of Governing Boards for Colleges and Universities, based in Washington DC.. Mike holds a master’s degree from the University of Washington and earned an undergraduate degree in English from the University of San Francisco.

 

Cindy Breilh
Executive Director, U.S. Programs

Cindy began her career as a nurse entrepreneur, owning a small nursing education business and working in clinical research for a medical device software start-up.  She has years of experience working with non-profits,  building high functioning teams, fundraising, developing strategies and supporting processes and systems. Cindy joined Medical Teams in 2015 as Director of Advancement, leading the Philanthropy Team supporting both US and Global Programs. Cindy brings this rare combination of health care, management and fundraising to help lead our US-based Mobile Clinic Program into the future.  Having lived in Africa and having worked for several international organizations in relief and development, Cindy has developed a deep passion for serving vulnerable populations. In her new role, Cindy brings all this experience to the U.S. Programs in addressing dental and other health care needs of people in our own communities.

 

Tricia Caldwell
Interim Vice President, Marketing & Development

Tricia is a people-first leader with an impressive history in sales and marketing, having served in high-impact leadership roles for more than 20 years. With an MBA from George Fox University, Tricia spent most of her career developing the for-profit side of business, leading teams at Starbucks and Stash Tea. She joined Medical Teams International in March of 2020 just as the COVID-19 pandemic started spreading across the world. Over the past few years, Tricia’s leadership has proved invaluable in several different roles within the organization, the most recent of which is Interim Vice President of Marketing and Development.

 

Sam Wehbe
Chief Financial Officer/Vice President of Finance

Humanitarian aid vehicles and services were a familiar sight for Sam as a child growing up in war-torn Lebanon in the 80s, so when he joined Medical Teams in 2022, it was a full-circle moment. Sam has more than 17 years of international development experience in various sectors. In addition to leading the functions of finance and accounting, Sam led change management efforts, established finance departments in multiple countries, designed financial and operational workflow processes, and headed risk mitigation initiatives. His career took him to several exciting international posts in Turkey, Ghana, Iraq, and Lebanon, and he oversaw the financial management of development programs in Yemen, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Rwanda, and Madagascar. Sam lives with his wife, three children, and their dog, Pepper, in Maryland.
