Since July 2004, Medical Teams International worked with 5 other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to respond to the crisis in Darfur. Originally named the Darfur Relief Collaboration, the group adopted the new name, Global Relief Alliance, in July of 2007 to expand partnership opportunities to other countries in crisis.

What is the goal of the alliance now?
As a registered relief and development organization in Sudan, Global Relief Alliance works to reduce illness and death in disaster zones. The group has collaborated on projects in Darfur, South Sudan, Pakistan and South Asia.
To date, Global Relief Alliance has worked with the World Food Programme, UNICEF, the Sudanese Ministry of Health, Medair, Medecins Sans Frontieres, Tearfund UK, Save the Children and the Fellowship for African Relief.
