The last breakfast at 8 a.m. and we load up in the big bus with first visit to Chemelco and the Food for the Hungry office. Introductions, speeches, prayers, songs, short sermon and more thanks. Again we are assured that we are appreciated. Wonderful metal flowers are given to each of us so that we will remember this special place forever.
A long bus ride (about five hours) past mud slides that have taken lives and we arrive around 5:30PM to our monastery turned into a hotel in Antigua. Rustic and filled with elegant charm this is a haven and a perfect ending to be in a spiritual place to take the time to reflect and process our special week.
Several of you have asked what you can do to help since you know you probably won't be able to be here yourselves. These people need more programs and programs take funding, so if you are going to be at the Medical Teams International auction on October 30th please, please raise those paddles high. If not, please go to http://www.medicalteams.org and push the donate button to make a gift that will make a difference.
With less than 3% overhead our dollars matter. We just saw firsthand that our team supported the building of a health center that will offer services and programs to a people who are so desperately in need of help. Medical Teams International will have a long lasting impact on the future of these children and for future generations.
Today is shop for auction day and we are off to do our duty! Bless you dear friends - we all hold hands in this world of ours!
Love you!
