We saw almost 200 patients today. We drove across the valley to a village called La Cena. The drive was gorgeous and someone saw a sloth sitting on a fencepost! I am so mad I missed it. A really great day in clinic. Lots of bad skin diseases. These poor people, especially the kids pick up either scabies or a fungal skin disease that burn and itch then get infected before they can get medicine for it. One old man came with infected calves from something that had gone untreated. When we cleaned it up, flies came out! They had previously laid eggs there then hatched into maggots, which probably did a great job of cleaning up the wound. We fixed him up and gave him lots of supplies and medicine to take care of it. He was so appreciative. I am having so much fun here, as tiring as it is.

Tonight our team and interpreters had a marathon UNO tournament. They are so fun to hang out with. Marc was in rare form and made me laugh the whole night. So quick witted, seeing the humor in everything.
