Cathy Golden in Nicaragua

Clinic in El Coyolar today. Saw 185 patients today. Another couple of maggot legs to clean up. Many old men and women came to see us, they are so weathered looking and wonderful to listen to and look at. Nicaraguans are naturally quiet at first meeting. It seems they often wait for you to set the tone of the interaction. Definitely a shy nature. But the kids warm up much faster. A little candy doesn't hurt either! Now when we come back into Santa Luz the kids all come out and wave. Tomorrow we see patients here in Santa Luz, it will be fun to see them that way. The electricity has gone out so the UNO game continues by flashlight :)
