Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Firefighters

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R) provides fire protection and emergency medical services to approximately 440,000 citizens in one of the fastest growing regions in Oregon. Its 210 square mile service area includes nine cities in three counties.

Over the past 10 years, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue firefighters have donated their time and money to help Medical Teams International provide assistance in countries around the world.

To date, more than 26 TVF&R firefighters have responded for disaster relief and EMS training needs in Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Haiti, Japan and Uganda. In Vietnam and Sri Lanka, teams of TVF&R firefighters assisted in the creation of regional and nationalized emergency medical services systems, which remain in place today. In Cambodia, their teams were tasked with providing first responder refresher courses for hospitals throughout the country. In total, TVF&R firefighters have provided more than 4,175 hours of training and assistance worldwide.
