Haiti Advantage - Join Us
Opportunities to volunteer
We are looking for rehabilitation professionals to include physical therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapist assistants, physiatrists, and Certified Prosthetists and/or Orthotists to travel to Haiti and work in any of the components of the Advantage Program.
Two week rotations are preferred, which may be extended for those who wish to stay longer. We attempt to keep the teams small (2-5 people) and balanced in experience and practice area.
Scope of rehabilitation needs in Haiti
The scope of rehabilitation needs in Haiti runs the full spectrum... just as in any other country. In addition to the obvious work associated with having a prosthetics and orthotics shop, we treat patients with neurological disorders, stroke, musculoskeletal injury, club foot, cerebral palsy, congenital conditions, wounds, and general debilitation. Manual therapists stay very busy in our clinic treating clients in the hospital as well as hospital and missionary staff.
So, regardless of your specialization (general, neuro, ortho, cardiopulmonary, integument), your practice setting (acute care, rehab, home health, outpatient) or your preferred age group (peds, adolescents, adults, geriatrics), the Advantage Program has a place for you!
Please donate or volunteer to help save lives in Haiti.
