Procedure: Ask the following questions

What is the meaning of the title of the exhibit—REAL. LIFE. Exhibit?

  1. How many children die of preventable illnesses in one hour? in one day?
  2. What are some of those preventable illnesses?
  3. What would it be like to have a sister or brother die because your parents couldn’t afford a basic medicine or medical treatment?
  4. What is Medical Teams International doing about it?

1 in 4 people in the world have no access to medical care.

  1. What is the population of the world? How many of those people do not have access to doctors or medicine or treatment?
  2. If your classroom or group represented the world, how many people would not have access to medical care?
  3. What would it be like if you were one of those people?
  4. What is Medical Teams International doing about it?

More than half of the world lives on less than $2 a day.

  1. How many people in our world today live on less than $2 a day?
  2. What does that mean for what people eat, what they wear, where they live, how they can take care of themselves when they are sick?
  3. What is Medical Teams International doing about it?
