What is the meaning of the title of the exhibit—REAL. LIFE. Exhibit?
Every 3.6 seconds a child dies from a preventable illness.
- How many children die of preventable illnesses in one hour? in one day?
- What are some of those preventable illnesses?
- What would it be like to have a sister or brother die because your parents couldn’t afford a basic medicine or medical treatment?
- What is Medical Teams International doing about it?
1 in 4 people in the world have no access to medical care.
- What is the population of the world? How many of those people do not have access to doctors or medicine or treatment?
- If your classroom or group represented the world, how many people would not have access to medical care?
- What would it be like if you were one of those people?
- What is Medical Teams International doing about it?
More than half of the world lives on less than $2 a day.
- How many people in our world today live on less than $2 a day?
- What does that mean for what people eat, what they wear, where they live, how they can take care of themselves when they are sick?
- What is Medical Teams International doing about it?
I’m only one person, but I can make a difference
Like the ripples in a pond, I can make a difference that will touch people around the world.
