Poems and reflections

After visiting the REAL. LIFE. Exhibit, students often express their insights and feelings in writing, whether in classroom assignments, entries to the REAL. LIFE. Exhibit writing contest, or reflections from their personal journals.

Entries for our Spring 2009 REAL. LIFE. Exhibit writing contest. Dozens of students wrote letters to the president of Medical Teams International to suggest how to spend $100,000. Two winners received I Can Make a Difference donation certificates, which they used to donate money to a REAL. LIFE. cause of their choice.

REAL. LIFE. Voices, Ms. Rosey Comfort’s advanced creative writing class at Westview High School (Beaverton, Oregon) in 2008.

Students from Centennial Middle School in Gresham, Oregon, reflect on what they learned, how they felt, and what they can do to make a difference after their visit to the REAL. LIFE. Exhibit.

The Aftermath, a publication of Ms. Rosey Comfort’s advanced creative writing class at Westview High School (Beaverton, Oregon) in 2007.

Journal entries for Westside Outside. In preparation for a mission trip to Thailand, students from Westside Christian School (Lake Oswego, Oregon) visited the REAL. LIFE. Exhibit and then wrote in their mission-trip journals. Two students share their thoughts.

I’m only one person, but I can make a difference.
