Medical supply program
Shipping Aid Around the World
Every day, clinic shelves in underdeveloped countries sit empty. Families arrive for help, only to hear the heartbreaking news that the medicine their child needs to survive is not available. Children die because they cannot access basic, yet lifesaving medicines.
This need motivates us to procure, pack and ship millions in medical supplies each year. Our commitment is to the mother in need of antibiotics or malaria medication.
Since 1986, we've shipped $1.3 billion in medical supplies to more than 100 countries. In 2009, $126 million in medicines and supplies were provided to 45 countries. We receive these donations from hospitals, HMOs, supply companies, clinics and pharmaceutical companies.
Medical Teams International is a proud member of The Partnership for Quality Medical Donations alliance.

Aspirin and soap may seem inexpensive to most of us, but low-income families have to choose between food or basic hygiene supplies. Social service agencies in the Portland-metro work hard to fill this gap, but they need help.
Since 1997, we have assisted these agencies through our program. Each year, more than 60 local nonprofits are the recipients of $7 million in donated supplies. Our partners this year »
