Mr. Hawk Pageant of Horizon Christian High School raises $1,589 for global need
The first annual “Mr. Hawk” pageant at Horizon Christian High School in Tualatin, Oregon, was more than just fun. It was also a fundraiser.
Sponsored by the Leadership Class, the pageant featured five juniors and seniors who competed for the honor of becoming “Mr. Hawk.” The young men modeled sleep wear, career wear, sports wear, and formal wear.
When the Leadership Class chose the organization to whom they would give the money, they remembered their trip to the REAL. LIFE. Exhibit and decided to send the money to Medical Teams International.
The group not only charged a modest admission to the pageant, but they also showed a video of the work of Medical Teams International and asked for donations. At the end of the night, the pageant participants had raised $1589.
Thanks to the vision and compassion of the Leadership Class and the Horizon Christian High School community, their donation will make a difference in the lives of thousands of people.
