Students from Vancouver church make a difference

As part of a week-long missions trip that simulated what it was like to be homeless, the middle school students of Vancouver First Church of God visited the REAL. LIFE. Exhibit. They were moved by what they saw and decided they needed to make a difference.

On the final day of their mission experience, small groups of students were given $30 to use however they wanted in order to provide help for one of the ministries they visited during the week.

One group chose Medical Teams International. The group made signs with information about what Medical Teams International does to help people in need, and they went to their local farmer's market to collect donations. In two hours, this group of eight middle school students collected $220.

But the story doesn't end there. Because the group did such a good job raising awareness in the community, they won a $1000 prize, which they donated along with the money they collected.

Children in need all over the world will live because this group believed they could make a difference.

Send us your I Can Make a Difference stories about how you, your school, youth group, or family is making a difference.

I'm only one person, but I can make a difference!
