Presentation of three containers of medical suppliesShukrhat Arifdjanov,Eurasia Program Manager for Medical Teams International, delivered three containers of medical supplies from a total shipment of six from US Department of State. These containers became possible due to MTI's work with the Ambassador of the UN to Uzbekistan in New York, Uzbekistan Consul General in New York, the US Ambassador in Uzbekistan, The DOS office of Humanitarian Assistance and MTI's Uzbekistan office staff.

The three containers carried $1,280,000 of medical supplies.

Three additional 40-ft containers of medical equipment are due to arrive by the end of this calendar year. We had a hand over ceremony at the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care in Tashkent. The Minister of Health, The US Ambassador, the Hospital Director, the MTI Uzbekistan staff, and Mr. Arifdjanov were at the ceremony.

The Emergency Hospital treats approximately 200,000 patients per year. This hospital has been our partner on the EMS program, and also on our Quality Medical Services project. Each speaker at the ceremony outlined the work and partnership of MTI with Uzbekistan and our mutual integration to help beneficiaries in Uzbekistan.
