Photos are a wonderful addition to a news story or presentation. Volunteers are encouraged to take photos as time and the norms of the host society permit. Medical Teams International may ask you for photos upon your return. Medical Teams International gives photo credits for photos taken by volunteers.
Preferred images are those that portray hope and proactive responses to difficult circumstances. Avoid using or sharing photos that show people in the dirt, with flies/insects in their eyes or with hopeless expressions on their faces. Medical Teams International cannot use: team dinner photos, posed shots, surgical operations, airport departures and arrivals.
For use on our Web site and other publications, the photo selection criteria are images that portray activities related to the team mission: preferably shots of "volunteers in action" such as holding a child, pouring concrete and feeding an infant. As much as possible, we like to use photos with volunteers in Medical Teams International logo wear.
There is a section in your Manual with photography and videography tips.
