Because we filter behavior we see through a particular worldview, communicating across cultures, even in the same language, can be a challenge. This challenge sometimes results in what Carol Archer calls "culture bumps."
"A culture bump occurs when an individual from one culture finds herself in a different, strange or uncomfortable situation when interacting with persons of a different culture." (Archer, 1982)
