(Portland, OR Apr 13, 2011) Two critical positions have been filled at Medical Teams International in Oregon. Steve Vickers will be the new Vice President of Administration and Douglas Bright joins Medical Teams International as Director for Development. Both started their new positions on April 11, 2011.

“We are pleased to fill these important positions with such qualified people. Both Steve and Douglas bring strong experience and a passion for our mission to our organization. I know God will use both of them to make a significant contribution our work," said Bas Vanderzalm, president of Medical Teams International.

For the past three years, Steve Vickers has served as Director of the Mobile Dental program for Medical Teams International. He has been promoted to Vice President of Administration. Before joining Medical Teams International in 2007, Vickers was the Vice President at Electro Scientific Industries in Portland and prior to that he served the President of JAS Europe in Switzerland. The agency will integrate the Mobile Dental program into the administration department, so Vickers will continue to provide lead to this effort.

Douglas Bright will join Medical Teams International as the Development Director. In this position, Bright will raise funds from major donors and provide strategic direction and oversight to development staff in Oregon. Bright most recently served with IMA World Health for three years as Vice President of Resource Development, prior to that he served as Director of Marketing and Public Relations with Habitat for Humanity International and earlier with The Bible League as Vice President of Direct Partner Relations.
