(PORTLAND, Ore., May 6, 2010)— On May 7, the Portland Area Global AIDS Coalition (PAGAC) hosts an informational fair and panel discussion at the White Stag Building in Portland to honor of World AIDS Orphans Day. Medical Teams International is a supporter of the event.
25 locally-based international organizations will participate. Medical Teams International’s Beth Appert, AIDS Program Coordinator, will be on site to provide information about the organization’s HIV and AIDS work in several countries.
“A huge component of Medical Teams International’s work with HIV and AIDS is meeting the needs of orphans,” said Appert. “This event is important to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS – which both infects and affects the most vulnerable, including children around the world.”
The fair also features a keynote speaker for the evening, Anne-christine d’Adesky, AIDS and Gender Justice Activist, Journal for World Pulse and Author.
