Providence Health & Services supports our Oregon Mobile Dental Program

Medical Teams International recently received a generous grant from Providence Health & Services to support mobile dental clinics in Oregon.

The $114,000 gift will support 123 clinics across the state, hosted by Providence hospitals and partners. Thanks to their generosity, approximately 1,300 marginalized people in the state will receive dental care valued at more than $615,000. Providence Health & Services has supported our Mobile Dental program for several years. This most recent grant demonstrates their commitment to providing quality dental care to those with the least access to it.

Providence and Medical Teams International have worked together to treat patients like Robert, an uninsured man who faced excruciating dental pain for months. He made several visits to the Providence emergency room and was treated with pain medication. Yet, what he really needed–and couldn’t afford–were several tooth extractions. 

At a Medical Teams International Mobile Dental clinic, Robert received four tooth extractions free of charge from our dental volunteers. We are grateful to Providence Health & Services for their significant support the helps alleviate dental pain and suffering for patients like Robert.
