Signs of Hope

All throughout the world this Christmas, there are signs of hope – thanks to gifts of hope you have provided throughout the year.

Children in Guadalupe Victoria, Mexico, faced chronic malnutrition five years ago.

Then, Medical Teams International started training people like Antonia to be a volunteer Community Health Educator (CHE).  Antonia taught her neighbors basic hygiene, sanitation and nutrition lessons. The local church, led by Pastor Eudoxio has been involved with this training, too. 

So, far, 56 families have participated in the project.  Seventy children attend a club for children at the church. Now, many children have moved from mild malnutrition to normal weight and/or maintained their normal weight as a result of Antonia’s efforts.

This Christmas, Antonia also will celebrate the emotional and spiritual help she offers her neighbors, too.
