Medical Teams International is participating in a new national movement called #GivingTuesday, marking November 27, 2012 as a day to give back.
(PORTLAND, Ore., November 7, 2012) – Medical Teams International (MTI) is participating in a new national movement called #GivingTuesday, marking November 27, 2012 as a day to give back. “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” have become cultural traditions in the United States, and this is an opportunity to bring attention to the importance of charitable giving.
Beginning Tuesday, November 13 through Tuesday, November 27, MTI will accept donations of hygiene supplies for distribution to 70 local service agencies that serve people in need. Accepted items include:
Gallon size Ziploc bags
Combs and hairbrushes
Bars of soap (regular or travel size)
Wash clothes
Toothpaste (regular or travel size)
Toothbrushes
In addition to collecting donations, Medical Teams International will host open house events at their REAL. LIFE. Exhibit. The REAL. LIFE. Exhibit, located at MTI headquarters, is a walk-through, multi-sensory exhibit that allows people to experience what REAL. LIFE is like for people affected by disaster, conflict and poverty.

Donations may be dropped off at MTI headquarters Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm.
