(PORTLAND, Ore, September 13, 2012) – The REAL. LIFE. Exhibit at Medical Teams International’s headquarters invites the public to a special open house event launching two new “experiences” for visitors.
The walk-through, multi-sensory exhibit is designed help people experience what REAL. LIFE. is like for children affected by disaster, conflict and poverty in places like Uganda, Haiti, and Mozambique. Open house attendees will be the first to view the exhibit’s two new vignettes featuring REAL. LIFE. for children in rural Guatemala and a new Marketplace, with stalls offering ways to get involved.
“We are looking forward to shining a light on the needs of the most vulnerable in our world,” says Karrie Hamilton, Manager of the REAL. LIFE. Exhibit. “Too many children in our world die from easily preventable illnesses. Our programs in rural Guatemala, where children die from pneumonia, diarrheal diseases, and malnutrition, help communities bring clean water, sanitation, nutrition, and vented stoves to their families. The people are now equipped to keep their children healthy.”
