Refugee Mother Success Story: Violeta

by Katie Carroll | Aug 01, 2014

As you know, MTI's work takes our volunteers and staff into some of the most difficult places in the world. Your gifts directly help some of the poorest people, fleeing their homes, which have been ravaged by conflict and violence.

Meet Violeta, one of the refugee mothers you have helped.  Twenty-seven-year-old Violeta resides in the Nakivale refugee settlement, where MTI is providing care to refugees in Southwest Uganda. A year ago, she gave birth to her daughter Anita at the health facility in the refugee camp.

Soft-spoken, Violeta says, "I was very afraid after seeing women lose their children during unsafe birth. I am glad that the medical personnel at the facility helped me during the delivery of my daughter."

Violeta is very grateful for the post-natal care she received as well as the advice from the facility. Thankful for the treatment, she has returned today for her daughter's immunizations.

Thank you for demonstrating the love of Christ to Violeta and mothers like her around the world. We are so grateful!
