Refugee Success Story: Shalom in SW Uganda

by Katie Carroll | Jul 29, 2014

Thank you for your generous donations to our program in Southwest Uganda, where we are providing medical care to Congolese refugees. Meet one of the families that you are directly helping!

Introducing 30-year-old Shalom. Shalom is mother to 10-month-old daughter Lydia. The pair live in Kabahinda Village in Nakivale settlement. When she came to the refugee camp, Lydia was very ill, suffering from malnutrition. Her mother was extremely distraught.

Shalom & her daughter Lydia

Thanks to your generous donations, Lydia is receiving nutrition food supplements that helped her become healthy again! Shalom is overcome with gratitude when she shares her story. Through tears she says, "before receiving the supplements, my daughter was in a sorry state. I am very thankful...."

Thank you for your selfless gifts, which are helping this little baby girl thrive! We are so grateful for your compassion.
