A South Sudanese Refugee Mother & Child Receiving Medical Treatment

by User Not Found | Jun 25, 2014

We are so grateful for your compassion. Your gift is essential to provide medical treatment for mothers and children who have had no access to health care.

We share with you today the story of a South Sudanese refugee mother and child who are receiving medical treatment thanks to your benevolence.

Brenda is a young mother of two small babies, a 3-month-old and a 10-month-old. She recently took in a third child, whose parents have gone missing amidst the fighting in South Sudan. Brenda is well-educated, and she and her children are dressed in clothes so nice that they look better fit for a church congregation than a refugee camp. One can imagine the different life she had before the horrific conflict forced her to leave everything behind, living in the refugee camp while extremely sick with malaria and diarrhea.

Thanks to you, Brenda and her children are able to receive desperately-needed treatment for her malaria at an MTI clinic – treatment they otherwise would have gone without. In Africa, where every minute a child dies from malaria, according to the WHO, treatment for Brenda’s children can mean the difference between life and death. Thank you so much for your love and generosity. We cannot provide this care without you.
